I bought the Anita Blake series when it was just starting out, so I have the old covers. But I recently discovered the new ones and they just blew my mind away! First of all, they're red. All of them. Yay for red! Then some have innocent but creepy items up front, and the others are just plain creepy. These are just some of my favorites, I wish I could put them all but the series is 20 novels long ^__^''
The top ones I find beautiful. I like the cameo pieces on Blood Noir, the Bullet one I can almost see as a tattoo, the Harlequin mask gives me the shivers, and the wolf face rising from the blood in the sand clock is haunting. The bottom ones I find creepy! Moths scare the crap out of me ever since I watched the darned movie, the skeleton thing on Bloody Bones yick, dolls are always creepy, especially when in their unfinished state. And the last one is not creepy by itself, its just a lot of bodies and limbs and faces, but when you look at the title Danse Macabre...well then, yes. Creepy.

Haha this Shelf Candy turned out to be kind of Halloween themed :)

I just love these new UK covers for Maria V. Snyder's Study Series. The artist (Henry Steadman) really captured the essence of the story in each cover. For those of us who've read the series before, we know the covers are basically showing us a moment in Yelena's life. And for those who haven't read it yet (and you must!) we'll you'll be intrigued by them. You'll want to know who is the tough looking chick in the cover, what's with the poison bottles in front, and the crystal figurines filled with fire. And I can tell you now it's one amazing story! Oh! and the words Poison, Magic and Fire of each cover are metallic and shiny. Shiny always good ;D

I know now it’s all about photoshop, and photoshoots of girls in beautiful dresses and stuff, but I still like the 'hand drawn' or painted covers. I got the Partholon series by P.C. Cast in their new covers (see above), but once I saw the old covers (see below) I so wanted to exchange mine. They have so much more visual interest than the new ones!

Oh and I know this is a meme about covers but it’s a great series too ;)

Again Jennifer L. Armentrout novels win my heart over with these awesome covers! I love how its a mix of smoke and fire textures that shape the flowers (the flowers have a lot to do with the story). I also like how they're very simple in the sense that there's no epic landscape with gorgeous model lying around with her hair all floating in the wind...Not that I don't like covers like those when done right, but sometimes simple is nice too. I can't wait until  my copy of Half-Blood arrives!

I realized this is a Saturday meme but I forgot to post it yesterday! But I just needed to share this. I start by saying that I do not like aliens (No, not even E.T.). That being said, let me now point out the gorgeous male model on this cover. Dark brown hair curly at the ends, day old stubble, intense melt-my-bones stare and...close up time...
Glowing green eyes! Oh yes!
I want me some sexy alien with glowing green eyes! lol.
Here's a pretty button I found on Jennifer L. Armentrout's blog!
I swear. She has the most gorgeous young men ever in her novels. Just check out her other buttons for the cast of Half-Blood.

Even without reading the title I just know its some dark, terrible and story, and I can't wait to read it! The black and white color scheme just make those splashes of red pop out even more. And the gold on the intricate tattoo looks beautiful against all that white.
The talented Nekro is the illustrator for this series, and the black-red-white theme is like his signature work. He's also done the covers for The Space Between, Blood Magic, Article 5, and Anna Dressed in Blood. You can check his other hauntingly beautiful illustrations over at his blog 13 Inches.
