NaNo Madness - Day 2

~Day 2~
Started a bit late today and things began slow. As in not at all. I was stressing out over a couple of Grad School things, so I took a break to read Destined by P.C. and Kristin Cast. Because, you know, I couldn't resist it! Had some great laughs with Zoey and the Nerd Herd and then came back to NaNo. Things ran smoothly then and in no time I had the goal for the day, but I kept writing anyway. I had a couple of scenes that I really wanted to do. Of course I'm not happy how they came out, but hey, it's NaNo right? It's not about perfection!! *shoots perfectionist side* It's about writing.
I ended up with 3k words again today! ^__^ Yay me!

Then I smacked right into someone for the second time that day. This time it was a slim girl that looked like a gothic porcelain doll. She had vampire pale skin, and hair so white it made her skin seem to have color. The black lips, and the heavy black eyeshadow could have made her look trashy, but on her face it look sharp. Right now, though, her face was set in grimace.
My dark purple shirt wouldn’t stain from the juice spilled during our collision, but her white jeans would.
“You should watch were you’re going witch.”
“Sorry. I didn’t watch where I was going. I can probably find a spell to clean those,” I offered, hoping that my magic would cooperate and that I wouldn’t end up incinerating the jeans.
“As if I would let a witch touch my things,” she snapped.
The way people said witch here was really starting to irritate me.

NaNo Madness - Day 1

~Day 1~
Ok, so somehow I knew this would happen but I was hoping it wouldn't. I woke up super late, inhaled a quick brunch, and opened Scrivener full screen mode. Then I walked away cringing in fear of the blank page! LOL I had to mentally slap myself a couple of times before I was able to sit down and write. The iPod on shuffle helped a lot.
Still it took me quite a while before I reached the 1k mark. I don't know if 1) I'm not describing enough, or 2) I'm terribly slow at writing. Maybe it just means I haven't flexed those writing muscles in a while. Hopefully a week from today I'll be writing 4-5k words in no time at all.

Jayson knocked three times. Not waiting for a reply, he opened the door and motioned us to go inside. Mom thanked him and went in first. I made for the door, trying to ignore Jayson who had moved closer.
“Thanks,” I mumbled as I tried to push pass him.
“My pleasure,” he said softly.
A breeze tickled my neck and then he was gone. The cocky little—
Mom called.
