Awry(The Archers of Avalon 2)Publisher: Firefall Publishing, 2012Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Sometimes love is meant to be. But sometimes...love is the death of you....
Seventeen-year-old Scarlet has just died. Only, dying isn't unusual for a girl under a centuries old curse that left her semi-immortal.
This time, though, she comes back to her current life instead of awaking in a new one, and she realizes the curse is changing. Together with the immortal Archer brothers, Scarlet must piece together her life and try to break the curse before her impending death comes again.

Musing Mondays (49) &It's Monday! (46)
This week’s musing is…
What is the weirdest/strangest/craziest book you've ever read?
Pure by Julianna Baggot wins this one. It's something about people living inside a bubble/dome-like city and they're not allowed out. But really, once you meet the outside people I can tell you, you wouldn't want to go out. When the bombs fell not everyone died, and the people that survived have been mutated and fused with all kinds of weird crap. The main character has a doll's head for a hand. And she's one of the less mutated ones. So yeah, too weird, very creepy. Maybe if it'd had more plot to keep me focused I would have ignored the gross factor, but i was bored...and grossed. Couldn't finish it.

Out This Week!
Erasing Time by C.J. Hill
In this high-action and romantic futuristic adventure, there is no escape from the future for two contemporary girls pulled out of their own time.
When twins Sheridan and Taylor wake up 400 years in the future, they find a changed world: domed cities, no animals, and a language that’s so different, it barely sounds like English. And the worst news: They can’t go back home.
The twenty-fifth-century government transported the girls to their city hoping to find a famous scientist to help perfect a devastating new weapon. The moblike Dakine fights against the government, and somehow Taylor and Sheridan find themselves in the middle. The only way to elude them all is to trust Echo, a guy with secrets of his own. The trio must put their faith in the unknown to make a harrowing escape into the wilds beyond the city.
Full of adrenaline-injected chases and heartbreaking confessions, Erasing Time explores the strength of the bonds between twins, the risks and rewards of trust, and the hard road to finding the courage to fight for what you believe in.

Review: Redemption by Veronique Launier
Redemption(Heart of Stone)Publisher: Flux Books, 2012Genre: YA Paranormal
Guillaume: For five hundred years I’ve existed as a gargoyle. Perched atop an old Montreal church, I’ve watched idly as humanity wanders by. With the witch Marguerite gone, there is no one left to protect, nothing to care about. I never planned to feel again. But then a girl released me from my stone restraints, allowing me to return as a seventeen-year-old human boy. I must find out all I can about this girl’s power...
Aude: Getting attacked twice in as many days is strange in itself, but even stranger is the intriguing guy I keep running into. There’s something so familiar about him, like a primal drum rhythm from my dreams. But spending time together only raises more questions—about my heritage, a native Mohawk prophecy... and an unearthly magic threatening our city...

Review: Tempest's Fury by Nicole Peeler
Tempest's Fury(Jane True 5)Author: Nicole PeelerPublisher: Orbit, 2012Genre: Adult Urban Fantasy
Jane's not happy. She's been packed off to England to fight in a war when she'd much rather be snogging Anyan. Unfortunately, Jane's enemies have been busy stirring up some major trouble -- the kind that attracts a lot of attention. In other words, they're not making it easy for Jane to get any alone time with the barghest, or to indulge in her penchant for stinky cheese.
Praying she can pull of a Joan of Arc without the whole martyrdom thing, Jane must lead Alfar and halflings alike in a desperate battle to combat an ancient evil. Catapulted into the role of Most Unlikely Hero Ever, Jane also has to fight her own insecurities as well as the doubts of those who don't think she can live up to her new role as Champion.
Along the way, Jane learns that some heroes are born. Some are made. And some are bribed with promises of food and sex.

Being sent to live with her estranged father offers a clean start and she is eager to take it. Enter Asher Blackwell. Once a Protector of Healers, Asher sacrificed his senses to become immortal. Only by killing a Healer can a Protector recover their human senses. Falling in love is against the rules between these two enemies. Because Remy has the power to make Protectors human again, and when they find out, they’ll becoming for her—if Asher doesn’t kill her first.
Why am I waiting for it?
Her power is exactly like Maria V. Snyder's character Avry in Touch of Power. Even though this fact bothers me one is fantasy, and this one seems to be paranormal so I'll read it. I'm very curious about this type of power. Call it…research.

~Nate's Rules~Wearing two sweatshirts, a scarf, and mittens, Nate looked like he was ready to go sledding. He clasped his hands together. "Okay, new rule. No more fighting in the living room amidst the expensive furniture and breakable windows. I'd rather not let in any additional cold drafts, on the slight chance our immortality doesn't extend to hypothermia."Gabriel rolled his eyes."Dude," Nate said, tightening his scarf. "It's freezing in here. We're immortals, not snowmen. On, and also?" He looked at Tristan and shrugged. "No more sneaking away with deadly, immortal-killing weapons with the intention of, I dunno, dying." Nate held up his mitten-clad hands. "Nobody approves."Tristan crossed his arms again."Okay." Nate took a deep breath. "Now that we're all caught up on the new no-no's of the house, what do you say we find a tarp and some duct tape and MacGyver ourselves a new window in the living room? Just, you know, to keep out the wind…and the leaves…and any sharp-toothed woodland creatures prone to attacking people in their sleep.Tristan raised a brow."What?" Nate shrugged. "Death by dragon? Awesome. Death by rabid forest squirrel? Not cool, man. Not cool.""You're immortal, Nate," Gabriel said."So? That doesn't mean I want rabies."
