NaNo Madness - Day 3

~Day 3~
I woke up this morning feeling sick, and it only got worse as the day progressed. It was 3pm and I hadn't even opened Scrivener or thought about NaNo at all. But before my slacker and procrastinating self could completely take over by rationalizing that sickness equaled a free day, I mentally whipped myself and glued my behind to the desk chair. I put on my iPod full blast, and the first song after hitting shuffle was Sick Sick Sick by Queens of the Stoneage.
-___-' Seriously...
I wrote about 800 words and then got distracted. Because you know my blog still had the Halloween background and header and Halloween was over so I HAD to change it immediately. It took me a while to do that, because stupid McCaffee wanted an update. It renders my computer completely useless when it does this. Then I remembered today is Tuesday, and you know what that means right? Vampire Diaries!! and Secret Circle. Again, I HAVE to watch it.
So after the crappy sick morning, crappier afternoon of technological hating, and planned procrastinating because of TV shows, I still managed to pull through in the last two hours and I completed my 2k word goal!
*raises pensword*
Hear that NaNo?! I will not be defeated!

      “What’s wrong?” she asked.
“Penrose,” I groaned.
“Juliette?”
I rolled around so I could look at her. She was still sitting in the same pose, but her eyes were now open.
“No,” I said. “Her brother.”
At this her eyes widened and her rosy lips formed a perfect ‘o’ of surprise, then she laughed. “Hah! Wait until Juliette finds out.”
“She already knows.”
“Oh boy,” she said standing up and stretching. “That’s alright. After Juliette you can’t dig yourself any deeper.”
“I stole a werewolf’s reading spot in the library,” I said. “Dark hair, yellow eyes, brooding. Do you know him?”
Vinn dissolved in a fit of laughter, until I threw my pillow at her. “I was wrong,” she said, drying tears from her eyes. “That’s Mr. hot and untouchable, Caleb Reese. He’s trouble of a different kind, but still trouble.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, you can fall for Jayson. He won’t turn down a girl if his life depended on it. You can have your fun, but expect to be replaced within the week,” she explained. “If you fall for Caleb, then be ready for some long hours of pinning  and heartbreak. He doesn’t go out with anyone.”
“Oh,” I said, strangely disappointed in knowing that fact.

Review: A Beaufitul Dark by Jocelyn Davies

A Beautiful Dark
Publisher: Harper Collins ,2011
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Buy: AmazonB&NTBD

Skye never questioned the story of her life. Her Aunt Jo adopted her after the death of her parents when she was just a child, and together they flip through memories the way some people flip through photo albums.

She never questioned if the stories were true.

Until the night of her 17th birthday, when the arrival of two strangers intrudes on her cozy life. Polar opposites, like fire and ice, Asher is dark and wild, while Devin is fair, cold, and aloof. Skye has no idea what they want—only that their presence coincides with the beginning of some shockingly strange events. Events that Skye, if she dares to think it, might be responsible for causing.

High up in the mountains of Boulder, Colorado, Skye finds herself caught in the middle of an ancient battle, one that began untold millennia ago. Torn between unpredictable Asher, whom she loves, and the infuriating Devin, who she can’t stay away from, her fate is murky as a starless night. And as the secrets of her true identity are revealed, Skye realizes that her destiny may reside in the Heavens—or somewhere darker.
