NaNo Madness - Day 5

~Day 5~
Woot! Last night I kicked some major NaNoWriMo ass. I was typing the s&@#! out of my story and I've never been happier!
Today I have to cut it short because I'm going out with some friends. Need to inhale some fresh air after being cooped up this week. I didn't reach the word goal, I only wrote 1,082 words. But since I've been writing more than 2k per day, I think I'm good for now. Also, during last night's madness something apparently clicked in my brain. Some unknown or forgotten switch was flipped and now the prose is pouring out of me. I am no longer disgusted at the quality of what I'm writing. lol.

I gasped as another thought crashed through me. What if the faeries found out about Liam? I gripped the edge of the window, sure I would fall if I continued thinking about this and what it all meant.
I couldn’t draw a breath right, and then out of the corner of my eye I saw a figure. I jerked back and smacked my head on the stone wall. It hurt, but my muddled head cleared up with the sharp burst of pain.
I looked up to see Caleb frowning at me.
“What?” I asked, rubbing the back of my head. A small bump was already forming. Annoyed at being interrupted in my dive into darkness, and at making me hurt myself. I gave him my best decapitating glare. “You want this seat now too?”

Matthew has loved Ariel from the moment he found her in the tunnels, her bee's wings falling away. They live in Safe, an underground refuge for those fleeing the city Above--like Whisper, who speaks to ghosts, and Jack Flash, who can shoot lightning from his fingers.

But one terrifying night, an old enemy invades Safe with an army of shadows, and only Matthew, Ariel, and a few friends escape Above. As Matthew unravels the mystery of Safe's history and the shadows' attack, he realizes he must find a way to remake his home--not just for himself, but for Ariel, who needs him more than ever before.

NaNo Madness - Day 4

~Day 4~
Woke up early to work on my entry for the pre-YA Tournament of Heroines contest. You can check by super fabulous banner and icons here. ^__^ After that, I went on to tackle NaNo. The damn word count didn't want to increase today. I swear I kept writing and writing and when I checked I hadn't reach the 1k mark. Only wrote about 1.8k words today. Not sure if I'll write more tonight. I'm reaching the scary "Middle" part of the story, and my outline never reached that far. So by Sunday it'll be time to start winging it. XD

“Annabel this is BFF Oliver,” Vinn said pointing to the fairy boy who had taken Jayson’s seat. “BFF, meet roommate Annabel.”
“Nice to meet you,” I said. Oliver smiled and waved at me.
“Your timing couldn’t have been more perfect,” I told Vinn, taking a bite out of my now cold turkey sandwich. “Jayson was spouting nonsense about wanting to talk about us. As if there was an us to talk about.”
Vinn laughed. “That’s Jayson for you.”
