Top 10 Books I’m Looking Forward To in 2013

Hosted by fiktshun

As this list is IMPOSSIBLE to fill without leaving a good chunk of fabulous books out of it, I’ve filled the blanks with books that are coming out during the first 6 months of 2013. Even dividing the list into Debuts and Sequels, I couldn't get them all. There are WAY too many awesome sequels coming out x_x Check out lasts year’s list here.

Debuts

by A.G. Howard
AmazonB&NTBD

When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own.

Fourteen-year-old Sophronia is the bane of her mother's existence. Sophronia is more interested in dismantling clocks and climbing trees than proper etiquette at tea--and god forbid anyone see her atrocious curtsy. Mrs. Temminnick is desperate for her daughter to become a proper lady. She enrolls Sophronia in Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality.

But little do Sophronia or her mother know that this is a school where ingenious young girls learn to finish, all right--but it's a different kind of finishing. Mademoiselle Geraldine's certainly trains young ladies in the finer arts of dance, dress, and etiquette, but also in the other kinds of finishing: the fine arts of death, diversion, deceit, espionage, and the modern weaponries. Sophronia and her friends are going to have a rousing first year at school.

Nisha was abandoned at the gates of the City of a Thousand Dolls when she was just a child. Now sixteen, she lives on the grounds of the isolated estate, where orphan girls apprentice as musicians, healers, courtesans, and, if the rumors are true, assassins. Nisha makes her way as Matron’s assistant, her closest companions the mysterious cats that trail her shadow. Only when she begins a forbidden flirtation with the city’s handsome young courier does she let herself imagine a life outside the walls. Until one by one, girls around her start to die.

The lush city of Palmares Tres shimmers with tech and tradition, with screaming gossip casters and practiced politicians. In the midst of this vibrant metropolis, June Costa creates art that’s sure to make her legendary. But her dreams of fame become something more when she meets Enki, the bold new Summer King. The whole city falls in love with him (including June’s best friend, Gil). But June sees more to Enki than amber eyes and a lethal samba. She sees a fellow artist.

Together, June and Enki will stage explosive, dramatic projects that Palmares Tres will never forget. They will add fuel to a growing rebellion against the government’s strict limits on new tech. And June will fall deeply, unfortunately in love with Enki. Because like all Summer Kings before him, Enki is destined to die.

5. Poison
by Bridget Zinn
AmazonB&NTBD

Sixteen-year-old Kyra, a highly-skilled potions master, is the only one who knows her kingdom is on the verge of destruction—which means she’s the only one who can save it. Faced with no other choice, Kyra decides to do what she does best: poison the kingdom’s future ruler, who also happens to be her former best friend.

But, for the first time ever, her poisoned dart . . . misses.

Now a fugitive instead of a hero, Kyra is caught in a game of hide-and-seek with the king’s army and her potioner ex-boyfriend, Hal. At least she’s not alone. She’s armed with her vital potions, a too-cute pig, and Fred, the charming adventurer she can’t stop thinking about. Kyra is determined to get herself a second chance (at murder), but will she be able to find and defeat the princess before Hal and the army find her?

6. Reboot
by Amy Tintera
AmazonB&NTBD

Five years ago, Wren Connolly was shot three times in the chest. After 178 minutes she came back as a Reboot: stronger, faster, able to heal, and less emotional. The longer Reboots are dead, the less human they are when they return. Wren 178 is the deadliest Reboot in the Republic of Texas. Now seventeen years old, she serves as a soldier for HARC (Human Advancement and Repopulation Corporation).

Wren’s favorite part of the job is training new Reboots, but her latest newbie is the worst she’s ever seen. As a 22, Callum Reyes is practically human. His reflexes are too slow, he’s always asking questions, and his ever-present smile is freaking her out. Yet there’s something about him she can’t ignore. When Callum refuses to follow an order, Wren is given one last chance to get him in line—or she’ll have to eliminate him. Wren has never disobeyed before and knows if she does, she’ll be eliminated, too. But she has also never felt as alive as she does around Callum.

The perfect soldier is done taking orders.

by Victoria Scott

Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence has made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple, weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big, red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.

Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal opportunity collector and doesn’t want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:

Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within 10 days.

Dante doesn’t know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky, Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect—he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector, and uncover emotions deeply buried.

There’s just one problem. Sam and the boys don’t remember anything before living in the lab—not even their true identities.

Now on the run, Anna soon discovers that she and Sam are connected in more ways than either of them expected. And if they’re both going to survive, they must piece together the clues of their past before the Branch catches up to them and steals it all away.

Top Ten Best Book Boyfriends of 2012

Hosted by fiktshun
Day number four of Top 10 Books of 2012 is dedicated to all those fictional boys that make us swoon. Again, I've done my best to find pics that show how I imagine them. There are some repeats from last year!

Pepe Toth

1. Damon Black
from Onyx

Alienlicious would be a good word to describe this guy. He’s sweet, overprotective, and a big pain in the ass. He’ll melt your heart with his emerald gaze and wicked seduction skills.

Garret Hetlund

 2. Tod Hudson

If you think all reapers are grim, then you’ll be in for a big surprise with this guy. Sweet, sexy and supportive, he’s not afraid of breaking a few rules or putting his life on the line if it means keeping his friends and family safe.

Tom Welling

3. Bram Griswold

Sexy even when undead, this soldier isn’t afraid to love even when his days are numbered. He’s determined to life his unlife at its fullest, and if that means battling evil undead alongside his sweetheart, he is more than ready to do it.

Chase Crawford

4. Adrian Ivashkov

Witty, Fun, Sexy, this guy has a bigger heart than he lets on. The one and only person who finally accepts him for who he is, rejects him because of her silly beliefs. But he’s not afraid to go after what he wants even when the odds are against him!

Lonnie

5. Tristan Archer
From Awry

A curse makes it unable for him to be with his one love without causing her harm. He’s selfless every step of the way and unfaltering in his love, even if from afar. He uses the typical bad boy mask over heart of gold.

Diego Boneta

6. Chaol Westfall

This ever-serious captain bears no love for those who break the law, but Celaena is just the girl to turn this around. He loves to argue with her, and with her, he might just learn to loosen up a little bit.

Emile Hirsch

7. Aiden St. Delphi
From Deity

Finally not afraid to seek out what he most desires, Aiden makes the book’s pages sizzle with the depth of his love for Alexandra.

Booboo Stewart

 8. Naji

He’s an assassin, therefore deadly and badass. Though a pain in the ass sometimes, he’s known to be incredibly kind. Only those who manage to become close to him, know he’s secretly insecure and easily hurt because of it.

Oliver James

 9. Logan McEntire
From Defiance

A brilliant scientist and inventor, this guy spends his days with books and diagrams. He’s cute in his fumbling awkward way, and pure in his love.

Zac Efron

10. Galen

As a Prince of the Syrena, this guy might come off as incredibly arrogant at first, but once you get to know him, you’ll see he’s kind, sweet, and romantic. He’s also a warrior, and has a mighty solid body as proven during the first meeting (check the excerpt at the bottom of my review).

Special Mention: Adult BF

Hugh Jackman
Bradley Cooper

 Curran
from Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews

He’s Mr. Grumpy and Overprotective. He might act all mighty and powerful in front of his packs, but he’s also a very caring man. Easily hurt when Kate dismisses him. (Couldn't decide who'd make a better Curran *__*)
