Review: Paranormalcy by Kiersten White

Paranormalcy
Publisher: Harper Teen, 2010
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Buy: AmazonB&NTBD

Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie’s always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she's falling for a shape-shifter, and she's the only person who can see through paranormals' glamours, but still. Normal.

Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie's dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

So much for normal.

Follow Friday (3)

Follow Friday is hosted By Parajunkee.com and Alisoncanread.com

This week question is:

Talk about the book that most changed or influenced your life (was it a book that turned you from an average to avid reader, did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation, does it bring you comfort every time you read it?).

It would definitely be Harry Potter who turned me from an average to an avid reader. It’s one of the first series I read, and I would just pick it up and re-read the whole thing every time a new book came out. I believe I’ve read it bow about 8-9 times, and every time it’s just more fun than the last time :)

As for the book that has helped me deal with life, I wouldn’t say just one book, but any of Tamora Pierce’s novels. They all have given me something that has helped me in one way or another. And maybe it sounds silly, but her heroines basically became my role models back in high school, and have stayed that way ever since.
