Review: Crimson Frost by Jennifer Estep

Crimson Frost
(Mythos Academy 4)
Publisher: Kensington, 2012
Genre: YA Mythology
Buy: AmazonB&NTBD

Overview
For a moment, a face flashed before my eyes—the most hideous face I’d ever seen. No matter how hard I tried to forget what had happened, I saw him everywhere I went. It was Loki—the evil god that I’d helped set free against my will.

I should have known that my first official date with Logan Quinn was destined to end in disaster. If we’d gotten into a swordfight, or been ambushed by Reapers, I’d have been more prepared. But getting arrested mid-sip at the local coffee hangout? I didn’t see that one coming.

I’ve been accused of purposely helping the Reapers free Loki from his prison—and the person leading the charge against me is Linus Quinn, Logan’s dad. The worst part is that pretty much everyone at Mythos Academy thinks I’m guilty. If I’m going to get out of this mess alive, I’ll have to do it myself…

Waiting on Wednesday (79)

Hosted at Breaking the Spine, spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Frost Burned
Patricia Briggs
March 5 2013

Shapeshifter Mercy Thompson's life is calming down, at least enough that she can focus on mundane matters like Black Friday sales. But on her return, Mercy is unable to contact her mate, Alpha Adam Hauptman, or the other members of their pack. All she knows is that Adam is angry and in pain. With the werewolves fighting a political battle to gain acceptance from the public, Mercy fears Adam's disappearance may be related - and that he and the pack are in serious danger. Outclassed and on her own, Mercy may be forced to seek assistance from the most unlikely of allies: the vampire seethe.

Why am I waiting for it?
It’s one of my top fave UF series out there. Like, even my mom is waiting for this book and she’ll probably even read the book before I find time to do it D:

Crimson Frost

~How a Spartan Fighs~
Oliver pulled the double scabbard away, leaving Alexei to wield the two swords. Oliver hefted the empty scabbard in his hand, and then he actually smiled. I didn’t know why or what Oliver thought he could possibly do with a piece of leather—
The Spartan ducked a Reaper’s blow, then spun around so that he was behind his attacker. In an instant, Oliver had wrapped the straps of the scabbard around the Reaper’s throat like some sort of leather vise. Oliver twisted the pieces of leather and the Reaper’s neck snapped with an audible crack.
Oh. So that’s what he was going to do with it.
