In exchange for their labor, loyalty and of course, their blood, these pets are registered, given food and shelter, permitted to survive.

One night, Allie is attacked by a pack of rabids, saved by an unlikely hero...and turned vampire.

Uncomfortable in her undead skin, Allie falls in with a ragtag crew of humans seeking a cure, or cures: for Rabidism and for Vampirism. She's passing for human...for now. But the hunger is growing and will not be denied. Not for friendship—not even for love.

8. Pure
(Covenant 2)
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
April 3, 2012
AmazonB&NTBD
There is need. And then there is Fate...

Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.

When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.

When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

(Alpha & Omega 3)
by Patricia Briggs
March 6, 2012
AmazonB&NTBD
They say opposites attract. And in the case of werewolves Anna Latham and Charles Cornick, they mate. The son-and enforcer-of the leader of the North American werewolves, Charles is a dominant alpha. While Anna, an omega, has the rare ability to calm others of her kind.

Now that the werewolves have revealed themselves to humans, they can't afford any bad publicity. Infractions that could have been overlooked in the past must now be punished, and the strain of doing his father's dirty work is taking a toll on Charles.

Nevertheless, Charles and Anna are sent to Boston, when the FBI requests the pack's help on a local serial killer case. They quickly realize that not only the last two victims were werewolves-all of them were. Someone is targeting their kind. And now Anna and Charles have put themselves right in the killer's sights...

10. Forgiven
(The Demon Trappers 3)
by Jana Oliver
March 27, 2012
AmazonB&N TBD
The days are growing darker for 17-year-old demon trapper Riley Blackthorne. With her father’s reanimated body back safely, Beck barely speaking to her because of a certain hunky Fallen angel, and a freshly-made deal with Lucifer, she has enough on her hands to last a normal teenage lifetime. Though she bargained with Heaven to save his life, her ex-boyfriend Simon has told the Vatican’s Demon Hunters that she’s working with Hell. So now she’s in hiding, at the top of everyone’s most-wanted list.

But it’s becoming clear that this is bigger than Riley, and rapidly getting out of control:  something sinister is happening in Atlanta… or someone. The demons are working together for the first time ever and refusing to die, putting civilians in harm’s way. Riley thinks she might know who’s behind it all, but who’s going to believe her? Caught between her bargain with Heaven and her promise to Lucifer, Riley fears the final war is coming – and it may be closer than anyone thinks…

Top 10 Heroines in 2011

Hosted by Two Chicks on Books and Fiktshun

Today is day four of the Top 10 Books of 2011, and today we has to make it a character based top 10. Since yesterday we got the best of the swoon-worthy boys I thought today we had to take a look at the awesome heroines. Again, I've done my best to find pics that show how I imagine them!

Saoirse Ronan

1. Tris
from Divergent

♥ Badass but compassionate
♥ She chooses Dauntless
♥ She's Divergent
“Fear doesn't shut you down; it wakes you up. I've seen it. It's fascinating." He releases me but doesn't pull away, his hand grazing my jaw, my neck. "Sometimes I just...want to see it again. Want to see you awake.”

Lily Collins

2. Juliette

♥ Broken but still feisty
♥ A survivor
♥ Determined
He licks his bottom lip into a smile. “Don’t confuse stupidity for bravery,   love. I know you haven’t eaten anything in days.”
Something in my patience snaps. “I'd really rather die than eat your food and listen to you call me love.”
~

“You sure you’re not crazy?”
“No.” I cock my head. “I’m not sure.”
Kenji grins. Looks me up and down. “Well damn. But you make crazy sound so good.”
Emma Roberts

3. Kaylee

♥ Is a bean sidhe or banshee
♥ Brave and determined
♥ Selfless
"I've seen you fight, Kaylee. I've seen you step into that darkness for someone else, then claw your way out, bruised but still standing. You're that kind of crazy, and I live in that darkness. Together we'd take crazy to a whole new level."
Alexandria Daddario

4. Alex

♥ A 'wild child'
♥ Fierce fighter
♥ Extremely sarcastic and stubborn
"It's just words and words mean nothing. Only action does."

Dakota Fanning

5. Sydney

♥ She's super smart
♥ Funny in her own way
♥ Eager to prove herself
I also suddenly realized that, as unlikely as it seemed, Adrian and I had a lot in common. Both of us were constantly boxed in by others' expectations. It didn't matter that people expected everything of me and nothing of him. We were still the same, both of us constantly trying to break out of the lines that others had defined for us and be our own person. Adrian Ivashkov — flippant, vampire party boy — was more like me than anyone else knew.

Lyndsy Fonseca

6. Katy
from Obsidian

♥ Doesn't take crap from aliens
♥ Curses like a sailor
♥ Brave
“Remind me," he paused, drawing in a stuttered gasp, "to never piss you off again. Christ, are you secretly a ninja?”

Evan Rachel Woods

7. June Iparis
from Legend

♥ A prodigy
♥ Kick-ass
♥ She grows
I will hunt you down. I will scour the streets of Los Angeles for you. Search every street in the Republic if I have to. I will trick you and deceive you, lie, cheat and steal to find you, tempt you out of your hiding place, and chase you until you have nowhere else to run. I make you this promise: your life is mine.

8. Karou

♥ Always has weapons on her
♥ Tattooed hansas on her hands
♥ Multilingual
“War is all we've been taught, but there are other ways to live. We can find them, Akiva. We can invent them. This is the beginning, here." She touched his chest and felt a rush of love for the heart that moved his blood, for his smooth skin and his scars and his unsoldierly tenderness. She took his hand and pressed it to her breast and said, "We are the beginning.”

Mila Kunis

9. Saba

♥ Goes through hell to help her brother
♥ Determined, brave, strong
♥ Becomes a warrior
We're on our own. An I feel calm. It seems crazy . . . but I'm calm. Because now I see what I gotta do. An what I ain't gotta do, which is waste time thinkin that anybody's gonna help us. That somebody's gonna come along an rescue us. I cain't count on nobody but me.

Jennifer Lawrence

10. Katniss

♥ A survivor
♥ A rebel
♥ Brave, strong
President Snow says he’s sending us a message? Well, I have one for him. You can torture us and bomb us and burn our districts to the ground, but do you see that?” One of the cameras follows as I point to the planes burning on the roof of the warehouse across from us. The Capitol seal on a wing glows clearly through the flames. “Fire is catching!” I am shouting now, determined that he will not miss a word. “And if we burn, you burn with us!”

Top 10 Book Boyfriends in 2011

Hosted by Two Chicks on Books and Fiktshun

Day number three of Top 10 Books of 2011 and today's post involved a lot of silly giggling, swooning, and fanning myself as I remembered all these amazing book boyfriends. "Beautiful face. Beautiful Body. Horrible attitude. It was the holy trinity of hot boys."

Shiloh Fernandez
2. Four

♥ Dangerous
♥ Dark blue eyes, "a dreaming, sleeping, waiting color"
♥ Dauntless

James McAvoy
3. Adam Kent

♥ Is a Soldier
♥ Very caring of his little brother
♥ Wicked Tattoos
…I watch as the muscles in his arms tighten with every movement and I’m suddenly on fire. Flames are licking at my skin and there’s a burst of heat clawing through my stomach. Every inch of his body is raw with power, every surface somehow luminous in the darkness.

Garrett Hedlund
4. Tod Hudson

♥ Funny, Sweet and Adorable
♥ Is a Reaper
♥ Honest
"Right now, this is all I feel." He held our intertwined hands up for me to see and I wanted to look away, but I couldn't break the hold his gaze had on me, like he could see more than anyone else saw. Things I couldn't see myself.

Ben Barnes
5. Ash

♥ Deadly Winter Fey Prince with Ice Magic
♥ Black hair and Silver eyes
♥ Devoted to Meghan
"My name is Ashallyn'darkmyr Tallyn, third son of the Unseelie Court...Let it be known--from this day forth, I vow to protect Meghan Chase, daughter of the Summer King, with my sword, my honor, and my life. Her desires are mine. Her wishes are mine. Should even the world stand against her, my blade will be at her side. And should it fail to protect her, let my own existence be forfeit. This I swear, on my honor, my True Name, and my life. From this day on..." His voice went even softer, but I still heard it as though he whispered it into my ear. "I am yours."

Andrej Pejic

6. Day
from Legend

♥ Long Blond Hair and Blue eyes
♥ Dangerous
♥ Super Smart and Strong

“Each day means a new twenty-four hours. Each day means everything's possible again. You live in the moment, you die in the moment, you take it all one day at a time."

Gaspard Ulliel

7. Will Herondale

♥ Witty
♥ Fiercely protective of those he loves
♥ Is a Shadowhunter
“I have wanted to do this,” he said, “every moment of every hour of every day that I have been with you since the day I met you. But you know that. You must know. Don’t you?”

Andrew Garfield

8. Zach
from Shade

♥ Scottish, has a sexy accent
♥ Bold, Wears kilts
Drives a Mini Cooper
Zachary spoke softly. “I wish I had all the answers so I could give them to you.” He adjusted the sleeve of his polo shirt. “In exchange for dessert, of course.”

Tom Welling

9. Bram Griswold

♥ Extremely good and nice guy
♥ Makes the undead look sexy
♥ Great leader, a soldier
He kissed my satin-robed wrist, over the glove’s buttoned opening, and dropped my hand.
In that moment, I found him fully, absolutely beautiful. The way he kissed me was so honest; the way he stood there, calmly embodying his own space, was attractive in that it simply was. He just was, when he shouldn’t be.

Ed Westwick

10. Adrian Ivashkov

♥ Fun and Witty
♥ Broken
♥ Messy but stylish hair
“I loved you, and you destroyed me. You took my heart and ripped it up. You might as well have staked me!”
“I. Loved. You. And you used me the whole time.”

Honorable Mentions from Adult Books:
Ruben Cortada
Malkom
from House of Comarré Series

♥ Brooding, tortured vampire
♥ Tall, dark, and handsome
♥ Has sense of humor
“Chrysabelle, I…that is…” Son of a priest, he could kill a man without blinking, but finding the words to speak to her was somehow harder? Pitiful. “You don’t understand. What I’m trying to say is–”
“Don’t. Don’t say it. Not another word.” The smile flattened and her hands came up like a shield. “Stop trying to keep me from getting—”
He pulled her in and kissed her soundly, fully aware it might be for the last time. When he let her go, she sucked in a deep breath. “Not trying to stop you.” He shook his head. “Not anymore. Just figured I might not get another chance to say what I need to.”

Joe Manganiello
Anyan
from Jane True series

♥ Big both in human and barghest form
♥ Long curly hair
♥ Rides a motorcycle

"Shush, you. You're still hurting. Let me see it."
I was still hurting, damn him. So I pushed my curled fist back into his palm. He gently spread my fingers open with both hands, stroking his thumbs over my palm. I didn't know which was hotter: Anyan's own skin or the healing magics he sent through me. I felt like a child, dwarfed by his imposing frame as he loomed over me, his attention turned inward as he fixed whatever was still wrong with me...

Top 10 Book Covers of 2011

Hosted by Two Chicks on Books and Fiktshun

Day two and the fun continues with the Top 10 Books of 2011, where for the next couple of days we'll be posting list of our top 10 favorite books, boys, heroines, and others. Today is all about the covers that have left me breathless. If you click the ♥ [hearts] after each explanation, it will take you to my review of the book.

by Rachel Vincent
The covers of the Soul Screamers series have always drawn my attention with its ethereal looking model up front in those gorgeous dresses that dissolve into the dark backgrounds. Now this one got me really excited because the model is letting go of his hand, and this already had me buzzing with excitement to read what exactly would Kaylee let go of. And damn, was this the best book ever in the series or what!? ♥♥♥♥

by Kristen Painter
The black and white color scheme just make those splashes of red pop out even more, and the gold on the intricate tattoos looks beautiful against all that white. Don't let the fragile looking beauty fool you, because Chrysabelle is one badass chick! ♥♥♥♥

by Josephine Angelini
There is just something tragic about the model standing there while her Greek inspired dress billows out around her. The sea and the sky look  turbulent, and there was just something that begged me to read this tragic love story. It didn't disappoint. ♥♥♥

by Brenda Pandos
I have a thing for red hair. I think it might be because of how many times I watched The Little Mermaid when I was little. So when I saw this cover and read it was about mermaids, I just had to have it! And oh boy did this bring me back to my good old mermaid obsession days! ♥♥♥

by Beth Revis
I didn't care much about this cover at first, but after reading it I couldn't stop staring at it! Now I quite love how the models are about to kiss, but are suspended in that moment forever. I see it as the moment he makes that terrible mistake. I can just imagine it! ♥♥♥

by Rachel Hawkins
I like the duality. Top half is a normal looking kind of shy girl in a school uniform, and below we have a confident young woman apparently ready to take on whatever comes her way. Sophie becomes just that, and I like that the other books in the series also have covers like this. ♥♥♥

7. Anew
by Chelsea Fine
This is another cover that only worked for me after I finished reading it. Basically those last fast paced chapters are the cover of this book, and I totally love it. For once the freaking gorgeous dress on the cover DOES actually appear on the story! ♥♥♥

by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I love how its a mix of smoke and fire textures that shape the flower. It's very eye catching and beautiful, and sort of ethereal too. Also, its purple and as I've said before, I love purple. ♥♥♥

by Julie Kagawa
We rarely get to see the male lead of the story on the cover. So when they do appear it's sort of amazing. And it's all kinds of awesome and amazing when Prince Ash stares boldly at you from this icy blue cover. ♥♥♥♥

by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Like I said before. It's very rare to see the male lead on the cover. And damn is this one drool worthy cover because of that. ♥♥♥♥
