Top 10 Book Covers of 2011

Hosted by Two Chicks on Books and Fiktshun

Day two and the fun continues with the Top 10 Books of 2011, where for the next couple of days we'll be posting list of our top 10 favorite books, boys, heroines, and others. Today is all about the covers that have left me breathless. If you click the ♥ [hearts] after each explanation, it will take you to my review of the book.

The covers of the Soul Screamers series have always drawn my attention with its ethereal looking model up front in those gorgeous dresses that dissolve into the dark backgrounds. Now this one got me really excited because the model is letting go of his hand, and this already had me buzzing with excitement to read what exactly would Kaylee let go of. And damn, was this the best book ever in the series or what!? ♥♥♥♥

The black and white color scheme just make those splashes of red pop out even more, and the gold on the intricate tattoos looks beautiful against all that white. Don't let the fragile looking beauty fool you, because Chrysabelle is one badass chick! ♥♥♥♥

by Josephine Angelini
There is just something tragic about the model standing there while her Greek inspired dress billows out around her. The sea and the sky look  turbulent, and there was just something that begged me to read this tragic love story. It didn't disappoint. ♥♥♥

I have a thing for red hair. I think it might be because of how many times I watched The Little Mermaid when I was little. So when I saw this cover and read it was about mermaids, I just had to have it! And oh boy did this bring me back to my good old mermaid obsession days! ♥♥♥

by Beth Revis
I didn't care much about this cover at first, but after reading it I couldn't stop staring at it! Now I quite love how the models are about to kiss, but are suspended in that moment forever. I see it as the moment he makes that terrible mistake. I can just imagine it! ♥♥♥

I like the duality. Top half is a normal looking kind of shy girl in a school uniform, and below we have a confident young woman apparently ready to take on whatever comes her way. Sophie becomes just that, and I like that the other books in the series also have covers like this. ♥♥♥

This is another cover that only worked for me after I finished reading it. Basically those last fast paced chapters are the cover of this book, and I totally love it. For once the freaking gorgeous dress on the cover DOES actually appear on the story! ♥♥♥

by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I love how its a mix of smoke and fire textures that shape the flower. It's very eye catching and beautiful, and sort of ethereal too. Also, its purple and as I've said before, I love purple. ♥♥♥

by Julie Kagawa
We rarely get to see the male lead of the story on the cover. So when they do appear it's sort of amazing. And it's all kinds of awesome and amazing when Prince Ash stares boldly at you from this icy blue cover. ♥♥♥♥

by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Like I said before. It's very rare to see the male lead on the cover. And damn is this one drool worthy cover because of that. ♥♥♥♥
