Guild Wars 2

Several people have asked about the lil poster. So I felt I had to answer, and answer in a big way...with a post. The question is...Am I a Guild Wars 2 player?
The answers is...Hell yes! Are you?
I've played in the last two beta tests, will be playing today July 20 --even when my deadline is the 24th and I have a TON of work left--because they're unlocking the Sylvari (!).

9 things Amy has to say of GW2

1. Level balance: When a higher level player goes into a lower level area, that player's level is downgraded to match the area levels. Don't get me wrong. I think this is a great feature. It means that no mater where you go, it'll still be a challenge to kill the monsters and stuff. But! When scaling down a player's level we should at least be allowed to be one lever higher than the current mobs around. It's pretty sad to get pwned by a level 5 Moa when you are lv18...

2. Cramps: The click-and-move option is a must for me, which is why I was so disapointed that they got rid of it in GW2. Having your hand in a set position over the keys to be able to move your character simply SUCKS. Do you know how badly my hand cramps after 4 hours of continuous play? It's horrible. Click-and-move should be reinstated.

3. But I killed you! One of the things I noticed is that the respawns are insane. They're way too fast for comfort, especially in caves and closed spaces where one might need a quick escape. And then you're retreating and BAM you get  attacked from behind by that damned spider you killed a minute ago. Fun...but not fun. Especially when you're trying to get that damn ore in the corner of the cave (see point 9)

4. Leading a Minotaur Stampede. Now this was seriously the most fun I had in the game. I don't particularly love my Norn Ranger compared to my other characters, but I will play her again and again just to repeat this quest. Becoming a minotaur and using mino-skills to fling, headbutt, and stampede enemies. Heck yes!

5. Diseased Oakheart. I've always hated these beasties, yet seeing these huge, majestic, and poisoned ones made me sad. I wanted to help them! Not kill them! Just kidding, of course I wanted to take a whack at it. But the area was oddly deserted, as in no other players were around and I wasn't about to try my luck with a boss on my own. Well, not on my own. I had my loyal rotting bone minions, but they die easily when it's against higher level monsters and stuff. Anyone up for this in the next beta?

6. Castle in the Sky. I know the area is called Isgarren's View (in Kessex Hills) but the town I think is called Mage's Fief or something Magic. Anyways, when you're walking to it if you look to the sky you'll see this...
A freaking flying Hogwarts off the coast. I almost peed my pants when I saw the silhouette in the sky. Then I get to the small coastal outpost and see the name flash on screen! Love it. Would have loved it more if it had  a) been a bigger town, b) an azura gate that teleported me TO the castle in the sky where I'd find the full on town. GW2 people...take note.

7. Female Centaur. ZOMG THEY EXIST IN GW2! I only saw one, but maybe I just wasn't paying attention before. And they're purdy! Well...in a centaurian kind of way. Still, centaurs keep attacking, so they're still not happy people even with the addition of females :(

8. Zombies. So I'm all excited because after a gazillion deaths I've reached a Sylvari outpost, and though my eyes are bleeding from all the saturated colors of their gorgeous flower-leaf-toadstool houses I'm determined to explore (and screenshot) every inch of it. But then, I reach a section of the mere where there a guards with poisoned signs over them. I drop from my toadstool perch and talk to them. They tell me the land is poisoned, and its seeping into everything. They wish they could leave and go home, but they have to keep vigil. Over what?, I wonder. That's when the screaming starts...because ZOMBIES have invaded. I'm talking about undead Azura and Sylvari and Humans the swamp has poisoned and then spat out. They're scary, ugly, and crap did they pwn me hard.

9. Crafting. Once I figured out how to work it I was lost. There are a ton of options like Chef, Armorsmith, Leatherworker, Huntsman, Jeweler, etc. I picked Jeweler and was soon hunting down ores around the maps, and ignoring all else. I had to get them to make necklaces, and rings, and earing, and ring...and...my...my precious O___O'
