What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaptation of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?
Tricky question. Books and movies are so completely different that I don't think I can ever completely say the movie lives up to the book. I will always be like "oh, they should have included this" or "have focused on that" blah blah blah. Point is! Book will always be better, therefore I'm always nervous when they announce movie adaptations. Now that I got that out of the way, I'll answer the question. If there's one movie adaptation that would leaved me quaking in fear is...
The Night Circus is one of the greatest novels I've read this year. I loved it, my mother loved it (she's a tough lady to please), and you random reader will love it (if you haven't read it yet). It has an amazing story, an incredible cast of characters, and the magical places of the circus, described with such rich detail that I can't even imagine them getting that right on the big screen. The cloud maze, the ice garden, the tree of wishes! So many wonderful things to include, and as with all adaptations most of them will have to be cut because of time constraints. I can only hope they capture the essence of it all.
